Blake's Story My name is Blake Stamper, I live in Henryville, IN., I am 17 years old and i am in the 11th grade and will be attending IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida in August of 2020 to chase my dream of playing college golf and beyond. I have been playing golf for 7 years, 6 years of competitive golf. I live at Champions Pointe Golf Club with my Mom, Louise and my dad, Jeff. I have a sister Lindsey, that is married to Andrew Boswell and my Nana did live in the same sub-division, so I was over there quite a bit when i wasn't on the golf course. my Nana passed away unexpectedly but peaceful in her sleep on April 11,2020 she was 70 years old. She loved to watch me play and was without a doubt my biggest fan. I will always miss and love you nana. I play Tennis to help stay in shape for the golf season. My mom is a teacher at Austin elementary, and my dad owns his own engineering/supply business in Jeffersonville, IN. I love to play competitive golf, I love the pressure of making a great swing when it counts. I have a swing coach Brad Morrow, that I have been working with for 4 years and he is awesome, Brad started out as a swing coach but after working with him for about 4 years he became much more for me. he is family, he is like a second dad to me and I consider it a privilege to have him on my team. he is very demanding but breaks everything down so I understand exactly what i am doing and what i need to be doing. Working with him is like going to school, every week he gives me homework to do for the next week some times it is a mechanical thing and sometimes it is a mental thing. I don't feel i would be as competitive without Brad. in 2019 we added a mental coach Dr. Kevin Chapman, that helps me stay in the moment and not get ahead of myself when I am on the golf course. He has helped me be able to take the pressure that most feel and turn it into positive energy. The mind set and attitude plays a huge role in this golf game. Dr. Chapman never says good luck it is always good process. if you are prepared and have done your work luck has nothing to do with it, just go through the process and good things will happen. We believe that "luck is the last dying wish for those who believe winning happens by accident". Thanks Dr. cHapman for all the hard work and time you have invested in me.
